Woven from finer, silkier, natural jute fibres by skilled artisans, a tied set of 4 jute placemats, in BRITISH COLOUR STANDARD Medici Blue.
Medici porcelain was the first successful attempt in Europe to make imitations of Chinese porcelain. The experimental manufactory housed in the Casino of San Marco in Florence existed between 1575 and 1587 under the patronage of Francesco l de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. Following the precedents of classic Chinese blue and white, decorations were painted in under-glaze blue, which resulted in a range of hues when fired—from a bright cobalt blue to grey.
No two pieces are exactly alike, suitable for everyday dining, jute is a natural insulator so great at protecting the table from anything hot. They look wonderful paired with our recycled glass tumblers and their matching coloured coasters.
They work well in both contemporary and traditional interior styles, making them a really versatile piece.
